In 1996 the Goo Goo Dolls were featured in a compilation titled “The Shredd -n- Ragan TV Theme CD”, which contained cover songs of TV opening themes. It was only distributed and sold in Buffalo, NY. for charity purposes. Among the other collaborators, we can also find their longtime friend Lance Diamond.
The CD is very rare, you can check a picture of its disc below:
The band covered the “Friends” theme titled “I’ll Be There For You“, which was originally performed by The Rembrandts. Overall, I find it to be a pretty well-executed cover, they maintained its inner poppy sound but also added some more rock energy to it. You can listen to it below.
