As I wrote in the past, there had been several Superstar Car Wash demo sessions which leaked online years ago. One of them featured a tape simply called “Instrumental Demos”. Such release was a 7-song studio take of some of the songs which ended up being included in the final 1993 album. Today I am sharing it with you.
We notice that two of those songs, that is “Tell Me Something I Don’t Know” and “Next To You” never got past their original demo incarnations. I will not repeat myself in terms of their details. I encourage you to read this post if you’re curious about the former, and this other one if you want to know more about the latter.
Overall, the sound quality for these demos is quite good. They sound pretty similar to their final versions, making me think they were the instrumental takes the band ended up bringing over to the producer, to have them converted to the tunes we have all come to love and enjoy.
