John Rzeznik – Once In A Lifetime (2002)

In 2002, Goo Goo Dolls’ lead singer John Rzeznik was hired by NBC to write the intro to a sitcom called “Good Morning, Miami”. The final result was “Once In A Lifetime“, a 30-second tune which would play each time the show’s episode was about to begin.

According to the website GooGooFans, the song was inspired by a young relative of John.

The year 2002 proved to be an interesting one for John, who briefly detached himself from his band to focus on penning songs without the support of longtime friend and bandmate Robby Takac. Before “Once In A Lifetime” he had already written two other songs by himself as a solo artist: “I’m Still Here” and “Always Know Where You Are“. This is the third one, which completes the cycle before he returned back to his band.
