MuchMusic Live Performances And Interview At Lee’s Palace, Toronto (1995)

Another amazing content just been forwarded by Mr. Sean Hampson is the Goo Goo Dolls TV appearance at MuchMusic, which took place in Toronto, 1995.

If you’re interested in checking out more material provided by Sean, don’t forget to browse the dedicated Category within this very blog.

As you may already have deducted, this 15-minute segment was shot to promote the release of “A Boy Named Goo”. By the time it was recorded, the band had already lost their longtime drummer George Tutuska, hence here we get to see the new addition Mike Malinin probably on his very first TV appearance with the band.

What’s interesting about this clip is what the Goo Goo Dolls have to say when interviewed by the presenter. Again, this document offers an insight into their mentality and worldviews before they really made it big on both a nationwide and extra-nationwide scale.

After having performed “Name“, John and Robby touch on different topics, such as media, western civilization, the music industry, and the absence of Lance Diamond from the new album credits. Furthermore, we also get to watch short clips of the band performing “Just The Way You Are” at Lee’s Palace in 1995, and “Different Light” in 1991 at the same venue. The segment ends with the official music video for “There You Are“.

PLEASE NOTICE: This is a VHS conversion from its original source to digital medium. You will encounter brief horizontal synchronization lines popping up once in a while.

Thanks again Sean for the content!
