867-5309 / Jenny (Version #2)

Another day, another rare gem from Mr. Sean Hampson. We recently discovered that back in the early 1990’s the Goo Goo Dolls actually wanted to include a recorded cover of this Tommy Tutone tune in their masterpiece “Superstar Car Wash”. Now, it’s time to enjoy another live performance for it.

So, Sean just sent me this version of the song, which differs from the one I shared months ago. Unfortunately, there is no further information about it, as I can’t even pinpoint a year it may have been performed in.

You can listen to it below. Download links are available at the end of this post.

Thanks again Sean. Click here to check his previous uploads.

UPDATE: According to a user, this took place at the “Shred And Regan Morning Bash” live radio broadcast in Buffalo, NY. Most likely during their 1995 A Boy Named Goo tour.

  1. They did a gig in Boston back in 1995. After the show, when most of the club cleared out, they came back out on stage and did this song. I recorded the show. I will find it and upload that version to YouTube. I also have a version recorded at Newbury Comics in Cambridge, MA in 1995 that I believe is already on YouTube.

    1. Sounds good. Maybe send us a link after you’ve uploaded it, so a post about it can be made.
