Here is a pretty peculiar, short concert the Goo Goo Dolls played in order to promote their then-newest album “Hold Me Up”.
This time the band performs at a venue located in their hometown, Buffalo, NY. I could not find a setlist.fm entry for this concert, maybe because it is so unique that only a few people may have attended to it. So, what’s special about it?
To me, this seems like something they might have improvised. There is a lot of talking here in-between songs, and only five of them, four about 24 minutes of running time in total. For instance, they play “Just The Way You Are“, then near the end of it they interrupt it for a minute or so to have a conversation, before reprising it.
Unfortunately, the audio quality for this one is not the greatest. It is still listenable, but far from the regular quality bootlegs usually come with. Nevertheless, I think it’s a very rare performance which is worth listening to. If not for the quality, give it a try for what the band members have to say here.
