Today I am sharing with you all a TV appearance the band did back in 1999, on the show “Spring Break” produced by the worldwide famous network MTV.
“Spring Break” was mainly about showing guys on steroids and young women wearing their bikinis as they walked about on stage, but also included live performances and interviews with music bands. The show took place during the annual period in April within which students usually interrupt their studies and classes for a few days. Ah, the memories…
Anyway, the Goo Goo Dolls appeared in one of the episodes of the aforementioned show. Unfortunately, I don’t have a specific date in terms of when this one was aired, besides the obvious year it took place in.
The band is shown in two segments. In the first one, they are briefly interviewed by Carson Daly about their tour, whereas in the following section they perform the song “Slide“.
Alright, now onto the bad part of the post. As it is sadly common with VHS rips (and this being one of them), it looks like even this time whoever did it was not very knowledgeable in terms of how an analog-to-digital convertion should be made. As a result, we get decent image quality but small video size (360p, whereby the standard is 480p). Overall, it is still pretty watchable but the degradation from the improper rip is certainly visible.
