Today I received a message from user Bailey, who has been sending us some very cool stuff as of late. What you will be presented with is a very rare picture of the band applying ink to their bright future.
Bailey sent the following photo:
As you can see, it depicts John, Robby, and George signing a deal with record label Metal Blade. This is clearly taken from a short newspaper article released sometime in 1988. The event took place at the Trackmaster Recording Studio in their native Buffalo, NY. That is the studio where they recorded their first three albums, and also the breakthrough release “A Boy Named Goo”.
In the article it is mentioned that the label had financed a video for the upcoming release (“Jed”). I believe they are referring to the music clip for “No Way Out“. I wrote about it here.
