The “Boxes” tour offered some very good live performances, including this one, which also features a nice surprise for the old Goo Goo Dolls fans.
On August 23rd, 2016, the band played at the Filene Center At Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia. In this occasion, attendees got the chance to listen to a total of 21 songs, with a running time of slightly more than 90 minutes.
What stands out here, and makes up this concert as a peculiar one, is the fact that the band included in their set list the song “Never Take The Place Of Your Man“, which they had stopped playing back in 1996. This is certainly a nice surprise for the older fans who dig the Prince cover which appeared on their 1990 release “Hold Me Up”. Curiously enough, they played that tune more times during the “Magnetic” tour then throughout the previous years altogether.

Enough with statistics though. As far as the concert is concerned, I really liked it. Audio quality is amazing, clean instrumentation, polished sounds, and a few jokes cracked by the band members here and there. This seems like a very well-done recording job likely performed by a professional. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it quite a lot.
