Today I am sharing another very cool concert from the year that sent the Goo Goo Dolls into the mainstream channels thanks to the hit single “Name“.
On July 14th, 1995, the band played at the Mercury Cafe in Denver, Colorado. This was your typical “A Boy Named Goo” era concert, featuring mostly songs coming from their then-last two albums.
Listening to it, I came to the conclusion that I like it quite a lot. I get the sense the members were in good mood and executed the songs with precision and fidelity (in relation to their studio versions, obviously). In this occasion, what stood out to me is the song “So Outta Line” acting as an opener, which is something I haven’t seen that often.
Quality-wise, I’d say very good. Vocals and instrumentation are quite clean and polished, considering this was certainly an amateur recording job.
