Today’s bootleg is a nice treat for those who like shows being streamed on the radio. Also, it is a repost of another concert. Make sure to read the entire post for more info.
I came upon this release a few days ago and when I listened to it, some of the things the band members said in-between takes sounded familiar. Therefore, I double-crossed it with the live songs in my archive and discovered that this bootleg, titled “Westwood One In Concert”, had been already posted on the blog under Visit Barbie & Ken. Specifically, this one is the performance they did in Las Vegas.
I don’t like reposting stuff unless it is strictly necessary. This time, I believe it is, because according to my listening experience “Westwood One” sounds better than its “Barbie” counterpart. Furthermore, the source is different. While the “Barbie” version was likely recorded from a soundboard source, “Westwood” is a radio rip of a programme which was streamed back then.
The concert itself took place in Las Vegas at the Alladin Theater on March 10th, 1996 (Now called Bakkt Theater). The bootleg I got is tagged as a June 17th, 1996 release. I guess that’s when the bootlegged version was released to the public, or when the show itself had been streamed on the radio.
Quality-wise, I love it. Clean, polished, and the performance is top notch.
I know this show has already been posted, but I hope readers will be happy about another Temple Of Goo release nevertheless. One of the main goals of this blog is to try and provide the best quality the “market” offers. If an improved version of something that had already been shared comes up, I think re-publishing it fits with the aforementioned blog’s strategy.
