A few months ago we posted the video version of one of the most famous concerts the Goo Goo Dolls performed during the “Superstar Car Wash” tour. Today, we share its audio-only counterpart.
The show the band played on April 30th, 1993 at the popular Metro location in the windy city is certainly one of the most loved ones among the fans. Not only, after decades, we got to enjoy a remastered, full HD version of it. We also got a number of different versions of the same show, including our very own, which was provided to us by our major contributor Sean Hampson.
I won’t be repeating myself in terms of describing the concert and its characteristics. If you want to read about it, simply check out the aforementioned links.
It is certainly due time for an audio-only version of such great performance. I recently came upon a rip of it. I am not sure about the source, and the bootleg was issued with basically no other info along, besides the date and location of the event. Hence, it may be a soundboard recording, or an audio rip from one of the available video sources. Either way, the quality is top-notch, with clear instrumentation and polished sounds/vocals.
