Another collection of Early Goo pictures (1987-2002)

Time to share another batch of pictures forwarded by contributor Bailey. I think I’ve already posted a couple of them on the blog, scattered around the vastness of the Temple. The rest is new to me.

Bailey has sent her comments about each of the shared photos as well, so I’ll jut let her do the talking. I will simply mention that as a reminder, by now, we’ve accumulated a pretty huge collection of pictures, some of them quite rare, which can be viewed through the dedicated category. The pictures posted below cover a pretty big time span, from 1987 all the way to 2002.

I found a blog the other day that had some amazing rare Goo pics, and I’d like to share them with you.
The first one features John and Robby sharing a microphone, this was apparently from the inside of the record sleeve to “Goo Goo Dolls” (first release, 1987).

The three after that are from a show in 1991. I’ve seen on of those pictures before on one of the covers Sean made for “Asbury Park” live in 1991. Cool pictures.

The next one is also from 1987, which was during the performance they did at the “Rocker Room”, lip syncing to “Livin’ In A Hut”. (Can you add this to bootleg watch?) I would love it if someone had the tape of it, it’s really interesting and I believe it came with an interview (there’s another picture below that features all three Goos also from that show).

The one next to that is of John and Robby with a few friends. John is wearing the orange and green scarf I’ve heard Laurie knitted for him (also pictured in the picture at the top of Temple Of Goo). That one was taken in 1995.

The next one features John in a red plaid dress (!?) and someone in the crowd is messing with his hair? Interesting picture. I think you have another shot from that show. That one’s from either 1987 or 1988.

Next one pictures John in a flannel shirt playing his “boing” guitar in 1993. I have sent you another picture from that same show I think.

The next one is also from 1993 I think, and features John and Robby playing side by side.

I did want to include three more, and let me explain these a bit. So, you know that episode of the “Daily Show” done in 2002 you posted a while back? Well, these pictures feature John, Robby and George frying chicken wings (I heard it was in celebration of Mike’s birthday before all the “deep frying boots” happened). The blogger who posted these said that the one with John holding up a picture is of the deep fryer he purchased. The other two are of the rented on they used, mentioned in the daily show. The blogger also mentioned that there may have been another picture of the boot Robby deep fried, but she didn’t have it, and the blog is near 20 years old, so I didn’t find that one.

**Hey just want to make a little adjustment here** I was reading what I wrote on the pictures, and the one where Robby and John are putting their heads together is from 1992, I think, and where I was putting a comment down about frying chicken wings, I accidentally typed George instead of Mike. Just so everyone knows, that wasn’t George. . .
