A couple of 1995 interviews

Today we have two YouTube links sent by contributor Bailey. These are short clips of John and Robby mainly talking about the production for “A Boy Named Goo”, along with a few takes on life and the music industry in general.

The first clip is actually quite nice, featuring the duo relaxing on a bed (most likely in their hotel room). Too bad the audio quality is quite low, and it is kinda hard to understand what they’re saying unless you really focus on it. Here’s Bailey’s comments on it:

The first one is one they did for “Noisy Mothers”, and I’m pretty sure was filmed not long after they released “Only One” as a single.
Originally posted by Ian Hooper They talk choosing producers and the changing Buffalo music scene, as well as their hopes for ABNG record sales. Just a heads up, the sound is really low and there’s a lot of feedback, so you have to listen pretty closely to hear what they’re saying.

In terms of the second clip, it mostly focuses on how the producer for their fifth release, Lou Giordano, ended up being a good professional to work with in relation to how he was able to capture the band’s essence during the recording sessions.

The second one I posted about six months ago, and focuses more on the louder, less polite sound of “Boy” compared to “Superstar Car Wash”. They talked about how Lou Giordano (*apologies if I spelled that wrong) was a great fit as their producer since he understood what they wanted to accomplish and how they wanted to sound.

The video linked about was originally cut from a longer TV episode.

Thanks again Bailey for the cool material.
