Gutterflower was released in 2002 and the first single off of it, “Here Is Gone“, is among the most favorite songs from the band’s entire catalog. Today, we present a very rare acoustic version of it.
I did some research on it, in terms of where it may come from. I do not have any certainty about my claims, but I am fairly confident this acoustic version of a Goo Goo Dolls classic was featured on the compilation “Music Is Hope“, a special album issued to raise funds for children with autism and other developmental disorders released in 2005 under Robby Takac’s label Good Charamel Records.
According to this interview with Robby, the acoustic take was recorded at the WPLJ radio show in New Jersey during the Gutterflower tour.
I could be completely wrong about it, though. If you do know for sure where and when this live take took place, let us know so I can fix this post with the proper details.
You can listen to it below. Download links a provided at the end of this post.
PLEASE NOTICE: The .mp3 file included here comes with 160kbps quality. This is slightly below standards (192kbps), but the recording itself it actually well done. The audiophiles my be a bit angry about it, the rest won’t care.
EDIT: According to a user on YouTube, this was likely taken from the AOL sessions, specifically from this take.
