John Rzeznik On Celebrity Tastemaker (2002)

As promised, here we have another amazing content which was forwarded to us by YouTube user jonathanbowman9377. This one is an interview lead singer John Rzeznik did back in 2002 for “Celebrity Tastemaker”, which was produced by MuchMusic USA (now known as Fuse).

The interview is basically comprised of five 1-minute segments. John touches on different topics, including the production for “Gutterflower”, dealing with fame, and his relationship with fans.

It is a brief, pretty detailed dive into his and the band’s mentality of the time. What struck to me is the final part, where he talks about how pessimist he was in terms of the Goo Goo Dolls being capable of lasting more than 15 years after “Gutterflower”. The continuous successes ever since must have certainly changed his mind.

Overall, this is pretty interesting content, and I wish the interview had been extended to Mike and Robby, to get to know their thoughts as well.

What we are dealing with is a VHS rip (480x360p) with great video quality. I noticed a bit of a problem with the audio, specifically the right speaker sounding louder than the left one. It may be a problem on my side only though, and nothing universal.

User jonathanbowman9377 also forwarded a picture of the disc the video was included in, which came along another release he had bought online.
