Slide (Live On NPA, 1999)

There have been many live TV takes for “Slide” ever since the song was issued as a single back in the late 1990’s, and contributor Bailey has found a very rare version on it.

The one we are presenting today was actually shot in 1999 for a French TV show called “Nulle Part Ailleurs”. There is no post-performance interview here, just John et al. playing the tune.

Bailey uploaded the video to her channel. This is clearly a VHS rip, so you will be getting the occasional vertical lines flickering here and there throughout it. It also comes with a cool blue-focused atmosphere in the background as the band executes their hit song, which I think it’s quite unique. Below are her comments about the whole thing:

I also figured since I’m already here, I’d share something else with you, too. So, the other day I stumbled upon this super rare performance of Slide done on a French TV show called “Nulle Part Ailleurs” in March of 1999. I’d never seen the performance before, but it was a good one, with decent quality at that. I thought it was weird that the color was blue, but that was just the lighting on stage. Also, maybe it’s just me, but the sound is a little quiet, and is louder on one side. Still though, it’s worth mentioning. This one was posted by me.
