We dive into the new year with a TV live performance the Goo Goo Dolls did back in 2006 to promote their then-newest single “Stay With You“.
On April 27th, 2006 the band was a guest at the famous Late Night With Conan O’Brien show. That was obviously not the first time John et al. had been invited to that venue. In our archive we feature three more instances within which their presence was detected, all of them took place before today’s release.
- An appearance at the same show in 1996
- Another appearance three years later at a show with a slightly different name, but hosted by the same individual
- A 2000 performance
“Let Love In” was the highly anticipated full length the band released in 2006, and “Stay With You” the first single distributed off of it. The Goo Goo Dolls were therefore invited to promote their then-latest effort. Unfortunately, we only get to see the band execute their live take without any kind of interview whatsoever.
Another bad note has to do with the quality the clip comes with. This is certainly a VHS rip which was encoded with a video size of 608x342p (the standard is 640x480p), and mono (!!!!) audio. Overall I’d say it is watchable, but it indeed represents a poor ripping job from whoever digitalized it. If only every ripper would adhere to my standards, heh. Well, this is what I got and this is what I can pass on.
