Today our contributor Bailey discovered a very rare TV performance the Goo Goo Dolls did back in 1995, to promote “A Boy Named Goo”.
The guys were invited quite a few times on the famous MTV 120 Minutes program. If memory serves well, the host of the time mentioned they were one of the bands he liked the most to have as guests.
John et al. also got the chance to perform a few songs, among which this nice take for “Burnin’ Up“. This is actually the first time I’ve ever seen such performance. Let’s hear what Bailey has to say about it:
Hello
I’ve just discovered something very rare…
I was stuck to thinking the Goos only played Naked and Only One in MTV Studios that day in March (the day they also hosted MTV 120 minutes)…but according to this video, that’s been proven wrong. They actually played another song: Burnin’ Up, which I’m not sure if it was even aired. Maybe it was, but no one seems to have seen it anywhere.I’m really disappointed with this VHS video rip, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers, right? The audio quality is pretty decent, and the performance was great. For all those Robby lovers like me, this is a special treat.
Enjoy this super-rare content. Thanks a lot Bailey for sharing it.
