Temple Of Goo interview with Paul Wanecski from the “Unplugged – A Tribute To MTV” band

A few days ago I had the pleasure to interview Paul Wanecski, a musician from Buffalo, NY. His band “Unplugged – A Tribute To MTV” will soon perform a concert to honor the Goo Goo Dolls.

If you need a refresher in terms of the music project Paul and his band are working on, you can read all about it here. I encourage you all to take a look at that post before continuing.

Paul and I met on his amazing streaming platform and chatted for about two hours. We touched on several topics, including a bit about ourselves, our relationship with music, the contexts we live in, etc… Needless to say, the focal point of discussion was the upcoming show at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo, NY, on February 17th.

This interview is the Temple Of Goo’s first official interview ever. Representing the Temple was only yours truly. Contributor Sean Hampson was supposed to be present as well, but unfortunately he was not able to join me and Paul at the last minute due to personal matters. You will get the chance to listen to my voice for the first time. You may be surprised by it, I’m sure you were expecting something different, heheheheh…

I also talked a bit about the blog, the inspiration behind it, and most importantly the people who have helped me shape it into its current, successful state.

Paul is a very talented artist who facilitated the whole interview endeavor, thanks to his professionalism and streaming skills. At times the discussion got quite technical, as he was explaining how hard it is to properly replicate Goo Goo Dolls songs when one aims for as much fidelity as possible. You will clearly notice how his passions for music-making and for the Goo Goo Dolls transpire from every pore of his being. Furthermore, he also replied to the questions some members of our community asked on the blog and via e-mail.

Overall, we had fun talking about the band’s past, our pasts, and the unplugged show his band is to perform in just a few days. I expect great things from this project of his because I have seen the strongest motivation into his eyes. Him and the other members of the Unplugged band truly believe in what they are doing, and I’m sure you too will perceive this dedication and strive for excellency when you watch the video. Pleasing the audience as much as possible whilst offering a unique, unforgettable experience aligned with the MTV Unplugged series is certainly their most pivotal goal, and they’re working very hard on making it a reality.

In terms of the interview per se, it is about 75 minutes long and it is posted on the Unplugged band’s Official Youtube Channel. The video will only be posted there for streaming purposes. I used his platform, hence I don’t feel like making a copy of it and posting it on the blog’s Youtube channel as well. However, I decided to make a backup copy of it and publish it as a Download option in here for those who wish to download it and watch it offline at a later time.

Once again, thanks a lot Paul for providing the Temple with its first, official interview. Me and our readers are looking forward to the upcoming concert, and cheer for your band’s success. Best of luck with your future endeavors as well, whether they be Goo Goo Dolls-related or not.

You can check “Unplugged – A Tribute To MTV” on their various social profiles here.
