The next release from contributor Ryne is a dive back into the 1990’s with a concert that took place during the “A Boy Named Goo” tour.
On April 25th, 1996 John et al. were in Vermont, specifically at the Champlain Valley Fairgrounds And Exposition Center. This was a pretty short concert (only 11 songs played clocking in at around 40 minutes) which main focus was apparently only toward their then-latest release. In fact, just two songs not included in “A Boy Named Goo” were presented to the crowd. Ryne has some thoughts to share about the show:
For my next release, I have another video/VHS show for you guys, From the ‘A boy named goo’ tour. This one is from 1996 at the Champlain Fairgrounds in Essex Junction, VT.
Its one of the GGD’s shorter shows of ’96, With a total of 11 songs played.
The 11 song set consists largely of songs from the ABNG Record, Plus 3 other songs, Including Hey from Hold Me Up.The GGDs have been to this Venue 2 more times in later years, Most recently for the 2014 leg of the Magnetic Tour. Audio and Video quality are both decent, I think.
Hope you fellas enjoy this. π
This is a VHS rip coming with the standardized 640x480p encoding format. Like Ryne said, it does not sound that bad although the video is oftentimes out of focus, given the fact it was likely shot from a distance with a technology that is certainly not comparable to our current standards.
Overall, it’s a very nice concert which we gladly add to our archive.
