Live At The PSINet Stadium, Baltimore, MD (1999)

We dive back into the late 1990’s with another full video performance from contributor Ryne.

The “Dizzy Up The Girl” tour offered some peculiar shows as well, just like the one we are sharing today. In my opinion, these concerts are basically quick touch-and-go performances with the mere goal of introducing the Goo Goo Dolls’ general sound to the audience. They typically come with pretty short sets and with songs mostly taken from a single release.

On May 29th, 1999 the band was in Baltimore at the PSINet Stadium (Now M&T Bank Stadium). This actually was one of the last shows before John et al. left for a European tour.

For my next release, I’m giving you guys another Video/VHS Rip. This one will be coming from the 1999 leg of the ‘Dizzy up the Girl’ Tour.

So the band played in Baltimore, MD, At the PSINet Stadium. For something called the HFStival.

I must say, This is fairly short show, With only a 9 song set performed. And the bulk of the songs played were from the then-latest record.

Unfortunately the Audio for this one is a bit tricky. Both the main volume and the Stage Mics seem like they were a little off.

If you are able to tolerate the lower volume (I know not all videos are gonna have the goldilocks quality), It does seem like its still a great performance. We especially get a nice showcasing of Mike’s awesome Drum Playing. 🙂

Like Ryne wrote, this is a pretty short show with only nine songs in total, the vast majority of which come from the aforementioned album.

In terms of the file itself, this is obviously a VHS rip coming with the standardized 640x480p encoding format. There are issues with the audio being quite muffled and the video quality is overall pretty watchable considering it was shot from a distance with old technology. I found the performance to be very good actually, especially for the harder-sounding tunes.
