Today’s release from contributor Christina is a very peculiar one. In a way, we can consider it a “Remastered” version of a collection of clips we shared months ago.
In our post “A Small Collection Of MTV Appearances“, which we published more than one year ago, we presented you all with a mashup of clips in which the band appeared on several TV programs produced by MTV in the years 1999-2000. Unfortunately, the quality for those clips was very low.
Today, thanks to Christina, we get to see a way better version of the aforementioned conglomerate of videos. I would dare call it a “Remastered” one. Let’s get more info directly from her:
You’ve posted some of this before as “A Small Collection Of MTV Appearances (2000)” – here’s a better quality version. This was from MTV’s big millennium celebration in Times Square on 12/31/1999, as well as some pre-filmed interviews from London. Whoever originally taped this was a bit trigger happy with the record button so unfortunately the start of several of the clips is cut off, but it’s still a fun watch, including performances of “Broadway” and “Slide” and commentary from the band throughout.
Apparently the show these clips were assembled into was called “2 Large” and the Goo Goo Dolls were amongst the many bands invited to the event.
As for the original collection video, this one is also a VHS rip coming with the standardized 640x480p encoding format. In comparison, quality for both the audio and video departments is way higher than its predecessor.
Thanks Christina for yet another amazing release!
