Time to dive back into the early 1990’s with another rare find from contributor Bailey.
The Goo Goo Dolls did a bunch of photoshoot sessions for “Superstar Car Wash”. At least one in late 1992, and the rest in 1993. We posted many pictures off of them here on the blog, including the ones you’ll get to see below. However, one of those photos was cropped as they took out the section with George. We now fix that big mistake thanks to Bailey’s intervention. Let’s see what she says about the whole thing:
Hello! It’s been a while since I’ve had anything to share, but I did find something I know you’ll appreciate. Remember this picture?
Well, it was apparently in a magazine in 2001, when the Goos were recording Gutterflower. Well, I found the other half of the picture with George in it!
It’s kind of incomplete because it’s right over the crease of the magazine, but I’m going to keep looking for the original photo. I also cropped the picture to just show George since there wasn’t much else on the page that had to do with Goo
I also found another picture of the OTHER picture that came with the original John and Robby one. This comes with an except from the 2001 article this was advertising.
The picture is also incomplete, but it’s interesting to see more of it.
Cheers!
Bailey
She was referring to this one:

So now we can get the other part, the one featuring George Tutuska:

From the same photoshoot session, the magazine also features another shot, which we have already posted in the past:

I believe the photos above were taken as promotional material for the release of the album’s second single, “Fallin’ Down“, which was propelled by the release of a movie soundtrack it became a part of, but was unfortunately never issued as a music video release.
Many thanks Bailey for the amazing find.
Dang Bailey! Look at you and these incredible finds of yours. Kudos. 🙂
