Give A Little Bit (Live At ReAct Now Music & Relief, 2005)

Contributor Ryne deviates from his usual full concert releases with a single clip taken from a 2005 live TV performance for “Give A Little Bit“.

If you’re getting “bored” with seeing releases involving full shows from the Goo Goo Dolls and are looking for a quick and easy fix, this one is for you. The latest material from Ryne is a single live performance John et al. did back in 2005 and streamed by MTV. The name of the event was ReactNow and the Goo Goo Dolls were amongst the dozens of other bands playing at that special benefit concert. Let’s get more info directly from Ryne:

For my next release, I have a video clip of the GGDs performing ‘Give A Little Bit’. This was from September 9th, 2005, And it was from ‘ReAct Now’: One of the many relief efforts that took place in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. And it took place in LA.

Great performance, With a video that comes with fair quality. Hope you guys like this one. πŸ™‚

I’ve always considered “Give A Little Bit” a pretty good cover but never liked the fact the band decided to release it as a single. I’m a little bias that way, that is I think bands should never release songs they didn’t write as singles. Nonetheless, the song ended up being quite successful overall and most likely helped in the sales department for “Let Love In”, and album that did not do extremely well when compared to its previous two, most famous releases.

Alright, enough with my impressions and data. The video is obviously a VHS rip coming with the standardized 640x480p encoding format. Like Ryne said, the overall audio and video outputs are quite good. Picture is pretty clear and I did not notice any flickering or distortion typical of those type of rips.
