Live At The Troubadour, West Hollywood, CA (2010)

The next release from contributor Ryne is a 2010 concert which took place during the “Something For The Rest Of Us” tour, featuring a special version of “Iris“.

This is, in my opinion, another one of those short concerts which main purpose is to provide a general idea of how the then-latest release from the band sounded like. Half of the tunes being played here come from the aforementioned album, while the rest is a mixture of more popular and lesser-known ones from “Dizzy Up The Girl” and “Let Love In”.

On August 31st, 2010 the Goo Goo Dolls performed at the famous Troubadour in Hollywood.

Next up from my catalogue is a show from the ‘Something for the rest of Us’ tour. The Troubadour show from the 2010 leg of the Tour.

This show was streamed in fair part by Sirius XM, So Its safe to say this one is a Radio Rip. Certainly the Troubadour is a noteworthy venue, And a place the GGDs have been to on a few occasions. Although they haven’t been back, Assuming my research is correct, since 2014.

At 12 songs, This show is fairly truncated compared the fuller shows they played during the 2010 tour. Most of the songs came from the then-new record, With a few songs from other records.

I dare say the Audio-Quality is Decent? Otherwise i can’t say I’ve noticed very many issues with this particular release. If somehow i missed something, Please do let me know. 🙂

I concur that this is indeed a radio rip from a Sirius XM stream back in the day. Quality-wise, it sounds pretty good. One funny detail about the show is represented by the live take for “Iris“, which John decides to sing without his acoustic guitar, claiming he was too lazy to get it.

As far as the actual release is concerned, you will be getting a single .mp3 file featuring the entire concert, encoded at 128kbps. This bitrate is quite lower from nowadays’ standard (320kbps), but given the fact it comes from a radio source I don’t think it makes that much of a difference.
