Contributor Ryne has shared another video clip taken from a TV appearance, this time for “Let Love In“.
In 2006 the Goo Goo Dolls returned to a more rock-oriented official single release after “Better Days“, the first single off “Let Love In”, was issued months earlier to promote the latter. I remember during that time fans were a bit let down by “Better Days“, as they perceived it as a weak, failed attempt to replicate the success of “Iris” with a song in the similar vein. At least that was the sentiment within most of the forums I used to browse.
The band then issued a more rock-fueled single, which actually named the album, maybe to make up for the discontent? Ryne has shared with us a TV live take for it, recorded in 2006. He has more info about it:
Bringing you guys another video clip today. This one will be from 2006, During an appearance at ‘Second Cup Cafe’.
Certainly the GGDs had a good few TV appearances during the 2006 leg of the ‘Let Love In’ tour. Often they played ‘Better Days’ or ‘Stay With You’, But instead we have ‘Let Love In’ for this particular video clip.
Quality is not too bad, I suppose. Even for a video that was at least 13 years old at the time i picked it up.
Hope you fellas enjoy this one. π
This VHS rip comes with small size, only 352x262p (whereas the standard for such format is 640x480p). Overall is quite watchable, however streaming it in full screen might generate a substantial amount of distortion and pixelation.
The video clip itself only features John et al. playing the song, no interview with any of the band members followed.
I found another version for it, shared by YouTube user goozemell, which can be viewed here. I could not locate any substantial differences between the two, so we are probably looking at the same source.
You can watch the video below. Download links are available at the end of this post.
