It’s time to share another release from contributor Christina’s batch. John et al. perform the hit single “Name” at one of the many VH1’s music programs, “Crossroads“.
The live take was actually shot in late 1995 but then aired on TV weeks later. Christina has more info about it:
Already on YouTube.
Per the description on this video, the concert was recorded in December 1995 but aired on TV in 1996; so feel free to adjust the date on this to suit your preference. From what I can find, VH1’s “Crossroads” was a music video hour dedicated to promoting then up-and-coming artists, and a compilation of the same name was released in 1996. This concert at the Meadowlands Arena in East Rutherford, NJ was a tie-in with the show, and the Goos appeared to play “Name.”
The two versions seem pretty similar to me, though Christina’s file appears to be a little less muddy and distorted from time to time. No interview with any of the band members, just the guys rocking hard and then disappearing into commercials.
This is obviously a VHS rip coming with the standardized 640x480p encoding format.
