We continue publishing material from contributor Christina‘s latest batch with a live take for “Eyes Wide Open“, shot at the famous Conan O’Brien show back in 1996.
I always found “Eyes Wide Open” to be an amazing song which would have performed greatly as a single. If I had been the band’s manager back in the day, I would have pushed for it to be the first single off “A Boy Named Goo” instead of “Only One“. To me, it was the perfect fit, along with the Tutuska-penned outtake “Stand Alone“, to bridge between the sounds of “Superstar Car Wash” and those of the subsequent full length.
Christina has provided us with her personal recording of the song as it made an appearance at the Conan O’Brien show. Let’s hear it directly from her:
Again, one you’ve posted before so I don’t have much to add, but wanted to share a downloadable version
This is a VHS rip coming with the standardized 640x480p encoding format. Don’t expect the best quality, as it is quite blurry at times and distorted. Nonetheless, the Temple finally has its own version and we gladly add it to our archive.
You can watch the video below. Download links are available at the end of this post.
