Goo Goo Dolls AI Covers: Volume 2

It’s time for another compilation of Goo Goo Dolls covers performed by robots. We released Volume 1 a couple of months ago, and we’re now all set and ready for its successor.

First and foremost, if you are out of the loop and would like more information about this whole AI Covers endeavor, I recommend you check out this post which details the methodology used to make them.

This time we did things a bit differently and opted to cover two songs for each album, from the band’s debut full length (1987) to their breakthrough album which granted them worldwide fame (1998).

For certain songs we actually included more than one version. That is because during the process we ended up with two versions that we thought were both equally good, and couldn’t decide which one was better keeping rather than dismissing.

Again, you will encounter the occasional gibberish sentence here and there, plus imperfections of any kind. Overall, I think the final results are pretty good, quite exceptional in some cases. One of the issues that are really not fixable is about songs kind of ending abruptly. Unfortunately, there is really not much we can do about it as the technology is still in beta phase and needs further work. These covers are quite hard to produce because in many cases you have to find the right balance between settings in order to obtain a decent outcome.

Anyhow, there you have it. Volume 2 is finally here. Enjoy it!
