Blog News: Temple of Goo reaches 100k views… With minimal efforts!
Dear Temple of Goo readers,
This is just a quick post to celebrate the fact Temple of Goo has broken through the psychological threshold of 100k all-time views.
WordPress sent us a message, detailing the fantastic news.

Needless to say, this achievement wouldn’t be possible without the precious help of all our Contributors, along with each single reader who decided to honor us with their clicks on a whatever Temple post they decided to check out.
This victory is a bittersweet one, for reasons I’ve already explained in a couple of occasions, a prime example being this one. Hence why I titled this post “With minimal effort”. The blog has been pretty much silent ever since 2025 began. That is not for lack of trying to push out content, but rather due to the latter being extremely scarce as of late. Despite such scarcity, we keep getting views on daily basis, ranging from 80 to 120 every single day. That means the blog is now well-integrated within the Goo Goo Dolls community websites indexed by search engines, and easy to locate through the latter as well.
Nevertheless, we will continue doing our thing, and release stuff as soon as we get our hands on it. In the meantime, we hope you will continue visiting us whenever you feel like doing so!
See you again when (if) we reach 200k.

Official News: “Summer Anthem” EP to be released on August 22
In case you missed the news, the Goo Goo Dolls officially announced on their Instagram page the release date for their next project, titled after their current Summer tour being held with Dashboard Confessional.
“Summer Anthem” is an EP set to see the light of day on August 22nd.
In the past few weeks the band has mentioned in some interviews about the willingness to issue a new album, but split in two parts. “Summer Anthem” may be the first one.
To my knowledge, this was the first time ever they decided to go down that route. I’m not sure, from a marketing standpoint, what their intentions are and what they aim to achieve by doing that. I’ve seen some bands taking the same approach in the past, and in many cases they did so when trying to capitalize on a current event.
In the case of the Goo Goo Dolls, the decision may have been taken due to the successful sales of their Summer Anthem tour, which was sold out for many cities way before the actual tour began. Did John and Robby decide to release something as a way to increase the money flow initiated by the tour? It’s possible.
In terms of musicality, you will see from the track list below that most of the songs have already been heard by fans, either live or because they’ve previously been released as singles. Sound-wise, the new tracks are reminiscent of albums such as “Magnetic” or “Miracle Pill”, hence a deviation from the more rock-oriented “Chaos in Bloom” approach.
Another thing to notice is that both the 2023 cover for “I Won’t Back Down” and the John-penned “Beautiful Lie” (released the next year) do not make an appearance. Will they be present in the next EP (aka “Part Two”)? Only time will tell.
Below is the cover for the new EP, along with the full track listing.

- Ocean
- Nothing Lasts Forever
- Slightly Broken
- Misery
- Such A Mystery
- Run All Night
- Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes)
