One of our readers, Carla Trujillo, reached out to us with a story of a close encounter of the Goo kind.
Here at the Temple we’re always happy to provide a space for fans to share their stories about meet-and-greets, quick or prolonged encounters, and the likes with any member of the band. Allowing people to detail these experiences provide an unfiltered, clearer image of John, Robby et al.’s personalities, a detachment from the personas that media oftentimes create which may be divergent from how they really are.
Our reader Carla would like to share her story with all of you. Here it is:
Quite a few years ago when my husband and I were roadtripping through Buffalo to or from Toronto, we reached out to Robby. He has a record label so that how I communicated with him. I sent him some of those photos. We wanted to have lunch with him but he did not respond to our request.
I have a friend Dave who works at CBS Studios in LA. I took my two nieces and their friend on a very private tour of the set for The Price Is Right and the special effects shop because Dave showed us around. Craig Kilbourn used to film his late night tv show there too. I heard loud music that sounded familiar but it was on the floor above us so I asked Dave if we could visit that set. We take the elevator but the music had stopped by then. The doors open and it’s Robby and Johnny in the hallway. My nieces knew who they were because of Iris and Name. I said hello and Robby recognized me. Johnny, not so much but they were kind and took photos with my nieces.
The photos she is referring to in the first paragraph are a collection of very rare pictures from the early days, which she may be sharing with the Temple soon.
Feel free to share your Goo encounters with the Temple if you want!
