Blog News: Temple of Goo to lose its dotcom domain in a few weeks

Dear Temple of Goo readers,

As previously anticipated in this post, the blog will lose its dotcom domain in a few weeks. As far as the time frame is concerned, this should happen around late December or early January 2026. The blog will then revert to its original WordPress subdomain.

This means that, after the switch takes place, you will see a blank page if you try to connect to the current address. Hence, make sure to update your bookmarks.

In a nutshell:

  • The address http://www.templeofgoo.com will not be working after the switch, and you won’t get access to our main page through it anymore
  • The original address http://www.templeofgoo.wordpress.com is currently working (it was never disabled in the first place) and will be the ONLY way to access the Temple after the aforementioned switch

The main reason why I decided to let go of the dotcom domain is the excessive personal expenses I’ve had to deal with over the past couple of years, which have required me to be more careful with my spending than usual. At this point, I don’t find it worthwhile to invest more money than I can currently afford, given the blog’s low monthly views and lack of revenue generation.

Please keep in mind that this decision is not final, and things could change next year as I stabilize my personal investments.

Do not worry — the Temple’s mission continues. The only thing changing is where you will find it online.

Thank you for your continued support
