Laurie Farinacci: The Fourth Goo Goo Dolls Member? – A Podcast

Here we go again with another podcast, courtesy of the AI technology behind NotebookLM. This time, Joe and Jessica delve into the role of Laurie Farinacci, John Rzeznik’s former wife with whom the Goo Goo Dolls’ lead singer shared a home for five years (1993-1997), along with many songwriting adventures, apparently.

As a reminder, the podcast may contain a couple of mistakes here and there, and it basically summarizes in a two-person-discussion fashion the contents present in the following posts:

Don’t forget that a lot of the stuff, both in the aforementioned posts and podcast, is the result of speculations coming from fans.

The podcast is 12 minutes long and can be listened to by clicking on the video below:

Name (Live At VH1 Crossroads Concert, 1996)

Superstar Car Wash Deep Dive: The Podcast

This literally took me minutes to create. All I did was feed Google’s latest AI project NotebookLM with the more meaty blog post I have in here, which obviously is this one. A couple of clicks later, the AI had generated a full 11-minute podcast featuring a male and a female speakers having a vivid discussion about some of the trivia mentioned in the post above.

This is a sneak peek into how the coming future will look like, especially for content creators. I only fed one source as a way of testing the technology and it’s quite impressive so far. I will certainly utilize more sources in the future to create other podcast sessions, as a way to make this little blog a little more alive.

Keep in mind that NotebookLM is still in their beta phase, and it is not perfect. In fact, they get a couple of things wrong throughout the whole thing, but they manage to pretty much nail all the rest.

If you have roughly ten minutes to spare, listen to the AI-generated podcast below, as Joe and Jessica discuss what I consider to be the Goo Goo Dolls’ best effort to date.

John Rzeznik On Extra (2002)

Today’s video clip is actually a short one provided by contributor Christina. John Rzeznik tries to get philosophical in this interview.

Broadway (Live At The World Music Awards, 2000)

Those “Broadway” live takes which were streamed on TV keep popping up. Contributor Christina has shared another one. This time, the event was the 2000’s World Music Awards ceremony.
