John Rzeznik, Robby Takac, George Tutuska (1991)

Below you can see a very rare picture of the Goo Goo Dolls, taken sometime between 1990 and 1992.

I’m not able to attribute a specific date to it. I’m speculating this is an early 1992 photo, which can be extremely rare. It is certainly not from the “Superstar Car Wash” era or even later than that.

EDIT: Thanks to an article sent by contributor Bailey, we now know this is actually a 1991 photo.

John Rzeznik circa 1984

This is a very old and rare picture of Goo Goo Dolls’ lead singer John Rzeznik circa 1984, when he was playing with the band The Beaumonts, in his native Buffalo, NY. A member of the band was Robby Takac’s cousin. John and Robby met through the latter, and a year later they formed Sex Maggots, before converting the name to Goo Goo Dolls.

Most of you already know that the Goo Goo Dolls released their fourth album “Superstar Car Wash” in 1993, and they named it after a real place in their native hometown, a real car wash which at the time was located at 226 William Street, Buffalo, NY.
