Primordial Goo And A 1988 Concert

Here we have some more amazing content coming from user Bailey. This time, let’s dive into YouTube for a couple of very cool and rare videos.

Bailey sent us a couple of links, along with a detailed description of the clips she forwarded. Below is her message.

As far as that 1988 concert is concerned, there is no setlist.fm entry for it.

Thanks a lot for the very interesting material.

So I do have something Pre Dizzy to share today. . .it’s entitled “Primordial Goo Goo Dolls” it shows clips of what the Dolls were like back in their drunken Continental days. I think it’s quite funny and would love it if someone had the entire clip (I’ve been looking for quite some time).

And while I’m at it, I found this video someone posted not too long ago–it was a live show of the Goos in 1988. I’m pretty sure they were opening up for someone because the set doesn’t seem very long. I don’t know why, but the person who posted it decided to skip around, so it’s not the entire show. Pretty decent quality for something that old.

  1. I have an important theory to share about the 1988 performance shared above.
About towards the end, Robby mentions getting “Citations for drinking beer on the street” and a while back I shared an interview (from 1989) where Robby talks about that. That was also with that whole mess of “Kicking Gang Green fans in the backs of their heads”–but most importantly, that was the show that landed them the deal with metal blade. I really really wish we could’ve seen the clip where Robby and John were getting chased around the stage though. . .XD
