Sympathy (Live On Regis And Kelly, 2003)

Our contributor Bailey forwarded us another little gem from YouTube, a 2003 clip of the Goo Goo Dolls playing on live TV one of their most successful singles, “Sympathy“.

I will not add anything more since Bailey already provided all the details you need to know, besides specifying that she is referring to this now-abandoned website in case you’re not sure what she’s talking about:

Hello
Well, here I am, with some more Goo.
Today I’m going to share a performance of Sympathy the Goo Goos did back in January of 2003 on the Regis and Kelly show. This is showcasing a highlight saved from VideoPimp (Via Goozemell, the channel who saved all this precious material). It’s only in like 360p, but the performance is beautiful, so I wanted to share it.

This was an almost-perfect performance of “Sympathy”. I don’t usually like sharing performances from the 2000s because a lot of them are the same, and not very notable. But I’d say this one is. They all made this a beautiful performance.
I’m not sure the exact date of the performance, but I know someone in the comments said it was in January of ’03, so I’m sure sometime then.

On another note, she also found something else on the same platform and would like your help with it:

Also, just a little side note. You can add this to my thoughts if you want to. I found these two performances on a playlist on Youtube, and when I tried to watch them, they were blocked by the same application that “Vh1 storytellers” was. The funny thing is, they showed up on my phone’s watch later and not my computer’s. I took a screenshot so you’d know what they were. It’s quite annoying because I would’ve tried downloading it if it had showed up on my computer, but it did not. Does anyone else happen to have either of these? The slide one looked like it wasn’t a full performance because it was only about a minute. the Two Days In February must have been the one they performed on “Leno” in 2001. (The one I was practically begging for from VideoPimp) Temple of Goo has the audio, and it’s a beautiful performance. Or…maybe if whoever posted those videos finds this, could you please send the file? That would be a great addition to our collections.
Anyway, that’s about all I have for today,
Stay Gooey!

My interpretation: After trying to find those two clips without succeeding, I think it’s likely those videos were part of a playlist and then later on got deleted. Because they were included in a playlist, the thumbnails were cached and saved on YouTube’s servers, so they remained there and are still visible, albeit no content is present.
