John Rzeznik 2002 Interview

Contributor Bailey sent us another interesting YouTube link from the “Gutterflower” era where John gets interviewed.

It looks like our database is growing with releases and content from the year 2002, which is quite nice considering that for whatever reason the “Gutterflower” era was somewhat neglected, and stuff from that period of time was not quite easy to locate. Things have indeed shifted.

Today we add to the collection with an interview Bailey forwarded to us. Let’s hear it directly from her:

Hello!

I’m back with some rare Gutterflower footage! This is something I think would be a great addition to the Temple’s archives.
This happens to be a very rare interview Johnny did after a show in 2002 (of which we get to see a part of, when they perform the end of “Here Is Gone” at the beginning of this video)

This is what looks like the Z100 music awards, but it may not have been. John does a short interview for the audience there—with a few words from Robby—and shares his thoughts on writing Big Machine (which he said was originally titled the “Disco Song”), what he doesn’t like about the music business now, the upcoming tour with Bon Jovi and more. The sound quality isn’t the greatest, but it’s definitely watchable.

Also, just a heads up for “two days in February” fans, I’m probably going to be back quite soon with a tribute to the classic. 34 years tomorrow folks! Whew!

Cheers!

Thanks a lot Bailey for sharing this little gem.
