Here we go again with another interesting video interview from contributor Christina, showing the band promoting their sixth album “Dizzy Up The Girl” on live TV.
The material presented today is new to me. I remember watching several interviews during and after the release of the Goo Goo Dolls’ most popular album in their entire discography, but I’ve never seen this one before. Christina has a few thoughts to share about it:
The band appeared on this music video show to do a quick interview and fan Q&A for VH1’s premiere of the “Broadway” video. A fun tidbit that we learn is that the Goos’ appearance on Sesame Street was actually the band’s idea. John mocking Mike for liking Screeching Weasel is niche humor at its finest.
Needless to say, this clip was streamed on VH1, a music network which gave a lot of attention to the band ever since “Iris” became mainstream. In terms of the interview itself, I am not going to spoil it for you and just let you discover the topics they delve into. Like I wrote many times before, videos like these are a great source of information for those who are not only interested in the musical aspect of the band, and are curious to know more about what John et al.’s viewpoints are on disparate topics.
The video is obviously a VHS rip encoded with the standardize format for such medium, that is 640x480p. The quality is overall pretty good, despite the occasional pixellation which mainly seems to take place in the background. Nonetheless, this is indeed pretty rare material which we are glad to include in our ever-growing archive.

I’ve tried emailing a couple concert bootlegs to you guys, But wasn’t sure if anyone saw them. Linked stuff from 1996, 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2005.
Otherwise, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Ryne H., I am the newest member of this great Temple.
My first experience with the Goo Goo Dolls was when i first heard their song ‘Long Way Down’ through the Movie Twister.
And then i saw them in concert at the Hard Rock in August 2016.
I’ve got quite the catalogue of Goo Goo Dolls Bootlegs backed up for you fellas, And i think you may be in for a treat.
I look forward to seeing what i can do to help build up this great temple of goo. π
