Live At The St. James Theatre, Auckland, New Zealand (2002)

The next release from contributor Ryne is a 2002 concert which took place in the beautiful country of New Zealand, a show that features one of the last live performance ever of a Goo Goo Dolls classic.

On October 13th, 2002, John et al. were in Auckland, specifically at the St. James Theatre, for the Oceania leg of their “Gutterflower” tour. This is a special concert because it comes with one of the last live performances of “Just The Way You Are. The band never played that song again after the aforementioned tour was over. Ryne has more thoughts to share about the event:

It’s really nice to see people have so far enjoyed my releases. Thanks fellas. πŸ™‚

And now for my third release!

The Auckland, NZ show of 2002, Played at the St James Theatre.
We will be coming back to an Audio Only bootleg for this one.

This show seems to be one of the more energized shows of 2002, And features the last time to date (at least that has been documented) that the song ‘Just the way you are’ had been played.

In terms of Quality, The audio i suppose is okay, And must have recorded by soundboard or audience member. This sort of show seems like a sought after one, Because I’ve heard people on other websites like YouTube talking about it. And I’ve seen people hoping for a bootleg of this particular show.

Well, Here ya go. πŸ™‚

Hope you enjoy this one fellas.

Ryne’s release came with the pre-worked video for it (which we have posted on YouTube and have embedded below) and the .mp3 file for the concert. For the latter, it is a 128kbps encoding job, a single file featuring the whole show. The download links provided below contain both files he forwarded our way.

Quality-wise, I think it’s overall OK though to my ears it sounded a bit low in volume. It is a very cool show though, quite energetic just like Ryne said. Furthermore, this one represents a little gem because, just like we stated above, it is one of the last live performances featuring one of the most loved songs the band ever put out. This mere fact makes it rare and exclusive content we are happy to archive in our Temple’s vault.

You can listen to the concert below. Download links are available at the end of this post.
