Live At The State Fair Grandstand, Syracuse, NY (2000)

The next release from contributor Ryne is another video performance, this time recorded during the last leg of the “Dizzy Up Thee Girl” tour.

On September 2nd, 2000 John et al. were playing at the State Fair in Syracuse, NY. I believe the venue is not as it used to be anymore, since it imploded in a devastating event which took place a few years ago. Anyhow, back then it was still active in all of its full glory, and represented a pretty local scene for the Goo Goo Dolls, which hailed from the nearby city of Buffalo. Ryne has a few thoughts to share about the concert:

For my 5th release, We will be coming to the Dizzy Up The Girl Tour for this one. Specifically the year 2000. With another recorded live video, Probably another VHS rip of a sort.

The Goo Goo Dolls played in Syracuse, NY, Featuring ‘Two Days in February’ on this setlist as the closer.

2000 was pretty much the last full year of the DUTG tour, Before production on ‘Gutterflower’ would begin as soon as the very next year. I’ve seen little TV or Radio Performances from 2000 here, But not so much a Concert. So i thought I’d change that for you fellas. 🙂

I actually like the set list for this one quite a lot, and yeah like Ryne said we also get to listen to “Two Days In February“, which apparently after the tour was finished they put on hold for 14 years before playing it again on a live stage.

“Just The Way You Are“, which is also played here, ended up with a similar fate. The band sang it a few more times a couple of years later, before it was shelved from the live performances.

This is indeed a VHS rip coming with a personalized size (840x480p). The standard format is 640x480p. That is why the video might feel a bit distorted, on top of being dark and out of focus for most of the show. Quality-wise, I’d say watchable. The audio part sounds pretty OK to me.
