Live At The O2 Ritz, Manchester, UK (2018)

The next release from contributor Ryne is a 2018 concert which led the way towards the “Dizzy Up The Girl” 20th anniversary tour that took place mere weeks later.

On July 25th, 2018 the Goo Goo Dolls were in England, specifically at the famous O2 Ritz located in the worldwide known city of Manchester, home to one of the strongest and most ancient soccer teams in the entire planet. Ryne has some more details to share about the event:

Today I have a release that is perhaps my most recent in terms of Tours or Shows. I’m bringing you folks an Audio-Only bootleg from 2018.

This comes from the O2 The Ritz in Manchester, UK. In a way, It was one of the sort of ‘Warm Up’ shows the GGDs were putting on leading up to their ‘Dizzy20’ Tour. The latter tour would take place 2 months after this show was recorded.

Certainly the Dizzy20 would prove to be a bit of a treat, As you would hear songs that had not been played in a long time. Plus ‘Amigone’ would be played live for the first time that year.

Anyway, In terms of quality, I think the Audio is alright by volume. Though I think the stage mics were slightly low. But it does also give you a great setlist.

Either way, I think you guys will get a great show out of this one. It will also be one of my more content packed releases, So i hope you enjoy this one. 🙂

The concert itself boots a total of 21 songs and like Ryne said, it features a nice mixture of tunes which date back all the way to 1995. Total running time is slightly more than 90 minutes and is concluded with one of those extended “Broadway” takes.

In terms of the audio quality, I feel overall it is pretty good and it tends to get to even higher levels during certain parts of the show. I concur with the fact that if the volume had been improved, it would be almost on par with professional soundboard recordings.

Nevertheless, I’m sure a lot of people will like this show, as it is a very energetic one with a set priority on late 1990’s / early 2000’s material from the band’s catalog.
