Wesley Willis – Goo Goo Dolls (1995)

Today I am sharing with you a song titled just like the band The Temple Of Goo focuses on: “Goo Goo Dolls“.

In 1995, American singer and songwriter Wesley Willis, a famous Chicago artist, released the album “Daren Hacker“. If you scroll through the tracklisting, you will notice some of the songs on that record are named after a band. Track #13 is titled… well, you guessed it… “Goo Goo Dolls“.

Looking at the lyrics for it, I believe he wrote them by describing his experience attending to a Goo Goo Dolls concert, most likely this one (which bootleg we posted here).

Below are the lyrics for it.

[Verse 1]
This band played at the Metro
About 1200 people were at the show
The jam session was awesome
It whipped a horse’s ass

[Chorus]
Goo Goo Dolls
Goo Goo Dolls
Goo Goo Dolls
Goo Goo Dolls

[Verse 2]
The band played it on
The band got down like a Magikist
The crowd roared like a lion
The jam session whipped a horse’s ass

[Chorus]
Goo Goo Dolls
Goo Goo Dolls
Goo Goo Dolls
Goo Goo Dolls

[Verse 3]
The rock show was over at last
A lot of people met the rock band
The jam session was awesome
It was a whooping on a mule’s ass
