John Rzeznik On “The Test FX” (2001)

The next release from contributor Christina is another TV appearance made by a single representative of the Goo Goo Dolls. In this case, John Rzeznik participated to an episode of “The Test“, which aired on FX for a short time before getting cancelled.

This is another occasion to take a deeper look into the band members’ minds and see what their thoughts are in reference to topics which are not necessarily related to music. Christina has some more details about today’s video:

Already on Youtube, 99% sure my copy is from the same master tape. I’ve saved the whole show as one video rather than parts.

This was a short-lived talk show where various celebrities would answer slightly risqué “personality test” questions. Most people were probably watching this episode for Carmen Electra but John got some cheers from the ladies in the audience too. John’s answer to the “do you look at pictures of yourself first?” question made me laugh, at least he’s relatable.

Thanks a lot to YouTube user dizzygoogoodollie who originally uploaded this segment.

I always got the feeling John never liked too much when hosts on these types of shows would inquire about his personal life and preferences. He tends to give evasive answers which most of the times leave the viewers with more questions. That’s just my perception anyway.

In terms of the video, it is obviously a VHS rip coming with the standardized 640x480p encoding format.
